 Dante Cardenas

Dante Cardenas

Hello, my name is Dante Cardenas and I'm a third year majoring in Computer Science. I have plans in pursuing a Molecular and Cellular Biology major sometime in the future and would like to pursue a career in biotech. I was born and raised in Boyle Heights and later moved to West Covina. In my free time I enjoy anything that has to do with music, animation/3D modeling, bikes, and many other things. The time I spent at Humboldt my freshmen and sophomore year taught me a lot about the work I enjoy doing which has led me to being an RA, tutoring, and now working through the DMSI Fellowship. I look forward to putting our resources to use and giving students a smooth semester. Good luck and have a great day!

Abran Neri

Abran Neri

Holla, mi nombre es Abran Neri, and this is my 5th year at Humboldt.

I’m Majoring in Critical Race, Gender and Sexuality Studies, with a pathway in Ethnic Studies and a Minor in Native American Studies as well. My hometown originates from two different places in Los Angeles - Boyle Heights and Watts.

The reason why DMSI is important to me is because it's a life changing experience/group of men and women, who not only are striving for a real liberation and real tranquility within themselves but for their respective communities as well. DMSI is dire not only to my way of life but to all those I carry with me. Added on each time I influenced and mentioned to others about DMSI, because its foundation and creation has opened multiple doors and opportunities for me. And for that… I’m eternally grateful and believe it will only lead to greater opportunities. Also for its space and role in putting me on a platform to learn, lean on and let others lean on me.
